George Li continues his tour of high-profile engagements, as part of the Tchaikovsky laureates celebrations, joining the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and its Artistic Director Valery Gergiev on their tour to Beijing on 3 December 2015. Li joins the orchestra as they perform a Rachmaninov cycle at the National Centre for Performing Arts.
Li performs Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2, in a programme which also includes the composer’s Symphony No.1, the Symphonic Dances, and the Piano Concerto No.1 and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini performed by Daniel Kharitonov.
In November, Li returned to Russia for two acclaimed performances, in Moscow with the National Philharmonic of Russia and Vladimir Spivakov, and in St Petersburg for a solo recital at Mariinsky Concert Hall. Click here to watch the recital.
